I knew I needed to change my game but had no idea HOW TO CHANGE MY
GAME. After I closed my PStars account for 6 months in frustration
only a few days ago, I started to think about what I could do to
improve my game. I remembered hearing about your site on one of the
“Poker Edge” podcasts I listened to, and decided to give it a try.
For the price of one tournament buy-in, I figured, why not do
something to try and improve my game instead of donking off more
money at the casino. I’m here (in Paris) taking classes for the
summer and have all afternoon to just listen and learn.
So I took the plunge, as they say.
As I started to listen, I began to realize all the limitations and
false assumptions I had been making about the efficacy of my tight,
hyper-aggressive style that I had learned and become very good at
over the last 18 months. Slowly as I watched the small ball lessons
unfold, I started to see more and more of the big picture. I finally
had my epiphany moment while watching one of Daniel’s small ball lessons.
I had been taking notes when I paused Daniel in mid-sentence,
and furiously scratched out the following revelation/commentary on
why to date I am only a “break even” player.
I wanted to thank you for all of the great content at Poker VT. I have yet to play with the Small Ball style for money, but have been practicing with it online at play money tables and already can see how it works and why it is so much better. I am
going to go to the 60 Euro freezeout today at the local casino and
give it a whirl. Even if I don’t win today, I’m positive that my
game has made a huge leap forward and when I get home to AC will get
my first big cash this autumn. A bit pretentious perhaps, but I
truly sense that my approach to the game has been fundamentally
altered by your program for the better. I can’t wait to see the
results.
