Note that Derk does not chat during the games.

Please read the following sections carefully for relevant information.

Registration & Eligibility

To be eligible for this competition, send an email to weekly@derk.org with the following information: your forum name and your PokerStars name. Send this in before you play any games or your results may not count. You only need to do this once, ever, and you will not receive a reply.

Only paid members of PokerVT will be eligible for prizes. PokerVT pros and staff are not eligible for prizes.

Scoring

Points will be awarded as follows:

1st place – 140 points
2nd place – 110 points
3rd place – 90 points
4th place – 70 points
5th place – 60 points
6th place – 50 points
7th place – 40 points
8th place – 30 points
9th place – 20 points
10th place – 10 points

Points are only awarded for games that you play with Derk. Highest point total will win. The leaderboard for each contest will be posted in that contest thread and the Poker VT homepage and will be updated periodically. A post will accompany each leaderboard update.

Only your first eight games played each month will count towards your point totals. This is to make it such that people don’t have to push themselves if they don’t want to, and will reward better play over higher volume.

So if you want to play just two games a week, that’s fine. If you’d rather get all eight done on one day that’s fine too.

To ensure the games don’t become filled by people who have already played 8, thereby blocking others from playing, any games past the 9th will incur a 30 point penalty per game. If you accidentally play one extra game over the 8 you won’t incur any penalty, though you won’t get any points for it, but the game after that the penalties will apply.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded as follows:
1st place: $145 + a guaranteed video hand history review
2nd place: $100
3rd place: $70
4th place: $45
5th place: $25
6th place: $15

Monetary prizes will be sent to your PokerStars account in the first week of the month following the win.

The hand histories for the 1st place prize must be sent within the first week of the month following the win.
